Monster Hunter Outlanders mobile is a free-to-play hunting and exploration action RPG built for iOS and Android. You explore Aesoland, fight large monsters in real time, collect materials, and craft equipment. It supports solo play and cooperative PVE for up to four players, but requires an online connection even when you hunt alone.

The mobile format changes how you control the hunt and manage a party; it does not turn combat into a passive collection screen. Use the device requirements, control choices, and service identity below to decide whether the game fits the way you want to play. This is the October 28, 2026 pre-launch snapshot, with international service scheduled for October 28 at 22:00 UTC on the North America, Japan, and Europe servers.

What a phone-first hunting game offers

Outlanders is developed by TiMi Studio Group under a CAPCOM license. Its setting, Adventurers, Buddies, Radiant Monsters, and original Elder Dragon Ruger Aidal give it its own identity. Familiar weapon names and returning monsters coexist with those new systems rather than making it the same client as another Monster Hunter release.

The core activity is direct combat: move around a target, read its actions, attack during openings, and use materials from hunts to improve equipment. Exploration adds gathering and traversal facilities, including ziplines and wind-generating devices demonstrated in pre-launch builds. Those facilities can support journeys through Aesoland's vertical terrain instead of simply decorating the map.

The current store description lists eight weapon types: Great Sword, Long Sword, Dual Blades, Hammer, Lance, Charge Blade, Heavy Bowgun, and Bow. More are planned, but a future expansion plan does not make every weapon from the wider series available in the current mobile client.

Choose the official mobile service for your region

The international distribution uses the Level Infinite and Proxima Beta context, while Garena publishes a separate Southeast Asian route. Begin with the official portal for the intended service and follow its App Store or Google Play option.

On Android, the international package is com.tencent.mhadv. The Garena listing uses com.garena.game.mho and identifies Garena Online Private Limited. These labels are useful when similarly titled search results and screenshots make two clients look interchangeable.

Coordinate the publisher and server with friends before settling on a long-term character. The international notice says North America, Japan, and Europe data is independent and cannot be transferred between regions. That statement does not settle every cross-publisher account, purchase, or invitation rule, so do not assume progress can later move between Garena and the international service.

The mainland China version follows a separate plan beginning in 2027, with an exact date unverified. Its WeGame client is in development. That is not an international Windows launch or a replacement for the announced iOS and Android route.

Use the detailed official pre-download notice rather than applying a closed-beta device list to the launch client:

PlatformMinimum stated setupRecommended stated setup
AndroidAndroid 9 or above; Snapdragon 835 or Dimensity 920 or above; 4 GB RAMAndroid 12 or above; Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 or Dimensity 9200 or above; 8 GB RAM
iOSiOS 15 or above; iPhone 8 Plus or above; 3 GB RAMiOS 17 or above; iPhone 13 Pro or above; 6 GB RAM

A minimum describes the published lower specification, not a guarantee of the visual settings or sustained frame rate you prefer. A recommendation likewise does not supply a benchmark for every qualifying model. Compare the exact hardware and system version, then evaluate the installed client on that device.

For a tablet, identify its model and the applicable store compatibility information rather than substituting a phone name or screen measurement. An 11-inch display does not identify a generation or processor. The useful check is the actual configuration you own or plan to use, not whether a retailer describes the device as suitable for gaming.

Prepare resources as well as the store application

The official notice estimates a client size of approximately 16 GB on Android and 20 GB on iOS. Installation needs additional storage for extraction and other processing. Those estimates concern the resource client, so a smaller store package or an early progress bar does not represent the entire storage requirement.

Check usable free space and use a suitable connection for the transfer; the official instructions recommend Wi-Fi. You can pre-download resources from the login screen before the service opens. Let that stage finish without confusing it with successful account entry.

The scheduled international timestamp is October 28 at 22:00 UTC, equivalent to October 29 at 06:00 in Asia/Shanghai and 07:00 in Japan. It applies to the named North America, Japan, and Europe servers, not automatically to Garena. A store button, version number, or completed download is not evidence that those services have already opened.

If setup stops, identify the stage: store installation, resources, account authentication, or server entry. Read the message belonging to that stage before replacing the application or creating a second account. This keeps a download problem from becoming an unnecessary region or progress problem.

Choose touch controls by the actions on screen

The official launch preview describes Classic Mode with basic attack, skills one through three, roll, and sheath. Adventure Mode uses attack, react, and burst. Those are the launch-preview definitions; older beta labels differ, so also inspect the visible actions in your client.

A simplified layout can reduce the number of actions you need to watch while learning the monster. A more detailed layout gives direct access to more weapon inputs. Neither choice removes the need to recognize an attack, leave time to defend, and position the character where the weapon can reach.

Part targeting helps manage the camera and select an area such as a head, wing, or tail. It does not move your character automatically or guarantee every strike lands on that part. When the monster turns or raises a selected part, adjust your position rather than repeatedly attacking because the lock indicator remains visible.

Controller support is officially stated, while the development team has described expanding coverage in stages. Do not infer a universal model list, complete menu navigation, or identical behavior on every device. Keep touch controls usable until you have checked the functions your own controller and client actually handle.

Understand the controlled character and supporting party

Your Fated Adventurer is the customizable protagonist and can change weapons and roles. Named Adventurers have fixed weapon identities, roles, and distinctive actions. You can choose a character because you enjoy a particular kit without assuming every character using that weapon behaves identically.

In beta solo play, supporting Adventurers could fight alongside the controlled character. That party system differs from playing with other humans in a four-player hunt. It does not make an internet connection optional, and it does not establish that the entire solo companion roster enters multiplayer unchanged.

Assault, Disruptor, and Support describe different jobs. Damage, interruption, protection, recovery, and buffs can solve different hunting problems. Before investing across several characters, identify the character you want to control and the function you want another slot to provide. That is more useful than automatically treating the highest displayed rarity as the answer to every encounter.

For group play, learn your own actions before trying to coordinate every effect at once. Watch the monster and any shared opening, then use an attack or support action that can connect during it. Exact co-op timings and values should come from the current hunt rather than a remembered beta number.

Free download does not mean every optional item is free

Outlanders includes in-app purchases and character recruitment. Ordinary equipment belongs to the hunt-and-craft loop, while recruitment expands the named-character options. The Fated Adventurer gives you a starting foundation without requiring a specific recruited kit just to experiment with weapon types.

The official first-season rewards preview announces enough recruitment items for more than 400 recruits in total during the first season. It also announces SSR Adventurers Luka and Pyro and SSR Buddy Kojiro through event missions. These are season and mission outcomes; they are not a promise of 400 pulls in a first-login mailbox or an unqualified automatic character delivery.

Read the applicable missions and recruitment details before spending. Specialized Contracts, flexible currency, event rewards, and duplicates serve different purposes. Beta probabilities, guarantees, and featured schedules should not determine an irreversible purchase unless the release client confirms the corresponding rules.

Set up for the way you actually use a mobile device

The official notice warns that higher frame-rate and graphics choices can increase heat and battery consumption. If those problems interfere with play, lower the related settings rather than assuming the highest selectable option is the correct long-session target for your phone.

Evaluate comfort during representative gameplay. Move the camera while walking, attack and defend, open a menu, and complete a normal hunt when access is available. An empty area or title screen cannot show every demand placed on the device during combat. Keep the same settings while making a comparison so you can tell which change helped.

Consider the session's practical setting as well. A hunting action game needs attention to attacks, and online play needs the connection to remain available. If you often stop abruptly, do not assume every activity has the same interruption behavior; check the current activity before starting it.

Start when the supported client, device, and input method fit those needs. Prepare the resource download, choose the intended publisher service, and use the opening hunts to assess controls and performance before committing to a large character-building or purchase plan. That gives you a concrete mobile setup instead of relying on another game's benchmark or an unsupported promise about your exact phone.
