To claim Barim, complete all map investigations in the Buddy Squad Investigation Notes web event. After the game launches, sign in to the game with the same account used for the event, create your character, return to the event rewards page, and select the correct server and account. Confirm delivery there, then collect the reward from your in-game mailbox.
Barim is an SR Buddy. He is the completion reward for the investigations, rather than a prize you need to win through the event draw. As of this October 28, 2026 guide, the international launch is scheduled for October 29: finishing a web objective before launch does not mean you can already receive its items inside a live character account. The event ends on November 30, 2026, at 14:59 UTC.
Identify the reward track before using attempts
The event has separate investigation progress, draw attempts, and delivery steps. Mixing these together can make a completed task look like a missing reward.
| Reward or resource | Requirement or purpose | What it does not establish |
|---|---|---|
| Investigation Attempts | Used to dispatch the Buddy Squad to investigate areas | Holding attempts alone does not finish the map |
| Draw Attempts | Used for the separate event prize draw | A draw is not the requirement for obtaining Barim |
| Geared Up Avatar Frame | Pre-register for the game or log in, according to the applicable event quest | Claiming the frame does not complete all investigations |
| Barim and the map completion items | Complete all map investigations | Being eligible on the webpage is separate from mailbox delivery |
| In-game mailbox items | Create your character, return to the webpage, and confirm the intended server and account | A download or store registration alone does not select a character |
The map completion bundle lists Barim, Zenny ×2,000, Dewberry ×5, and Verdant Dew ×5. Keep that bundle separate from the random draw results. A wallpaper, a small Zenny prize, or a Rutacoin draw result belongs to a different part of the event and does not replace the map completion condition.

The official rules list Barim under the all-map completion reward, separately from Draw Rewards. This is the rule panel, not a successful claim confirmation.
Earn Investigation Attempts through the event quests
Start by signing in to the event with the account you intend to use in the game. The event participation notice explicitly requires those accounts to match for in-game reward eligibility. Choosing the account before accumulating progress avoids discovering at delivery that the event history belongs to a different login.
The quests award the following attempts:
| Event action | Investigation Attempts | Draw Attempts | Important condition |
|---|---|---|---|
| First event login | 2 | 2 | The first-login reward is distinct from later daily logins |
| Daily event login thereafter | 1 | 1 | Visit the event page on the relevant event day |
| Pre-register before launch, or complete the replacement game-login quest after launch | 2 | 2 | Completing the pre-registration quest does not award another set when its label changes |
| Invite the first friend | 4 | 2 | The invited friend must log in to the event |
| Invite the second friend | 4 | 2 | The second invitation has its own listed quest reward |
| Follow the official X account | 1 | 1 | Complete the corresponding event quest |
| Follow the official YouTube channel | 1 | 1 | Complete the corresponding event quest |
| Follow the official TikTok account | 1 | 1 | Complete the corresponding event quest |
| Join the official Discord community | 1 | 1 | Complete the corresponding event quest |
| Perform an investigation | Not listed as an award | 1 | This adds a draw opportunity alongside investigation progress |
Use the invitation quest's Go control on the Event Rewards page to obtain its share link. Sending a link alone is insufficient: the invited person must enter and log in to the event before the invitation counts. If a friend says they opened the link but your quest remains incomplete, establish whether they actually completed that login before treating the invitation as broken.
The rules list rewards for the first and second invited friends. They do not establish an unlimited invitation income loop. Likewise, the follow quests are individual objectives, rather than a promise of new attempts every time you visit a social profile.
Work with the event reset
The daily event login resets at 15:00 UTC. This is the web event's login quest reset; it should not be treated as the reset time for every activity in the game.
A missed event-day login cannot be claimed retroactively or carried into another day. Playing the game for a long session also does not replace visiting the event page for that daily event quest. For a reliable routine, open the page, check the login quest status, and spend available Investigation Attempts on unfinished areas.
If you visit near the reset, use the UTC time to distinguish two event days. Two visits on the same calendar date where you live do not necessarily fall into the same event day. Equally, a change in your local date does not itself prove that the 15:00 UTC reset has occurred.
Finish the map before expecting Barim
With attempts available, dispatch the Buddy Squad to investigate areas on the event map. Continue until the event recognizes all map investigations as complete. The reward condition applies to the whole set, rather than one successful dispatch or a particular draw outcome.
If the page says you have no Investigation Attempts, return to its quest list. Resolve an unclaimed or incomplete quest, or return after the next eligible daily login. Repeatedly opening an area without attempts does not satisfy the dispatch requirement.
The page may also ask you to pre-register or log in to the game before beginning an investigation. Follow the quest wording applicable to the event phase. Before launch, the listed quest concerns store pre-registration; after launch it changes to logging in to Monster Hunter Outlanders. Players who already completed the pre-registration quest through this event do not receive its attempts a second time simply because that wording changes.
Do not try to infer the required investigation count from the number of attempts in your account. Attempts are the resource used to perform investigations, while the completed-map state is what qualifies you for Barim. The event rules do not provide a substitute such as spending a certain number of Rutacoins, making recruitment pulls, or reaching an assumed Adventurer Rank.
Send the earned items to your character after launch
The delivery stage starts after you can enter the game and create your character. An installed client or completed pre-download is insufficient because you still need an actual game account destination for the items.
- Enter the game with the event account. Use the same account under which you completed the investigations. A similar display name is not a substitute for matching account identity.
- Create your character. Complete character registration so that the event can send the earned in-game rewards to a game destination.
- Return to the event's rewards page. Earning the bundle on the webpage does not remove this separate claim step.
- Select the correct server and account. Compare the available destination with the character you actually intend to use. Do this before confirming delivery.
- Check the confirmation carefully. If the displayed destination is wrong or unclear, stop and resolve that mismatch. The rules do not promise that a confirmed delivery can later be redirected.
- Confirm the reward delivery, then open the in-game mailbox. The event's sent message directs you to Mailbox; collect the items there rather than expecting the webpage to place them directly into your active Buddy selection.
Keep your distinction between earned, sent, and collected. An earned reward still needs a destination. A sent reward has moved to the mailbox stage. A mailbox item still needs to be claimed in the game. These are successive states of the same bundle, not three different Barim rewards.
Locate the failed step when a reward is missing
| What you see | First thing to check | Appropriate next action |
|---|---|---|
| No Investigation Attempts | Event quest completion and today's event-page login | Finish an eligible quest or wait for the next eligible daily reset |
| Invitation remains incomplete | Whether the friend logged in through the event | Have the friend complete the participation step before repeating the share |
| Some investigations remain unfinished | The map's completion state | Continue investigating; draw results do not finish the map for you |
| Reward earned, but no character destination | Whether you have created a character under the event account | Enter the game with that account, register the character, then return to the webpage |
| A different account or server appears | The event login and the intended game destination | Resolve the mismatch before confirming |
| Reward marked as sent | The mailbox for the selected destination | Check that character's in-game mail and collect the relevant message |
| A gift card is missing | Whether you won a gift-card result and supplied the requested email details | Follow the gift-card delivery process, which is separate from in-game mail |
If the page marks the bundle as sent but you cannot find it, preserve the delivery confirmation, selected server, account details needed to identify the character, and the mailbox state. Use the event's support contact to describe those specific states. Do not assume that more recruitment attempts, another store registration, or another investigation on a separate account will repair an already confirmed delivery.
No fixed instant-delivery time, resend guarantee, or compensation for an incorrect destination is established by these rules. Avoid repeatedly confirming different destinations while trying to diagnose an ambiguous result.
Keep random prizes and account conditions separate
The event draw lists Rutacoin ×50 at 1%, with that reward limited to once per account. That is a chance prize, rather than guaranteed currency for completing the map. Drawing several wallpapers therefore says nothing about whether you have earned Barim; check investigation completion for that answer.
Gift-card redemption uses an email-based process. Winning players provide the requested information, and redemption details are sent within 30 business days after the event ends. That timetable does not describe Barim's mailbox delivery and should not be used to decide whether an in-game claim has failed.
Finish eligible quests, investigations, and claims before the November 30 deadline instead of assuming unclaimed rewards will remain available afterward. Use the account you actually plan to play: the participation rules prohibit unauthorized tools for creating or accessing multiple accounts and can disqualify improper participation. For an unresolved claim, identify the exact failed stage and contact support with the existing account record rather than creating a new account and expecting its progress to merge.
